Coty has successfully fought the distribution of its Calvin Klein and Joop! perfumes in branches of Aldi. According to a report by the German VKE – Association of Cosmetic Products Distributors, the Federal Supreme Court in Germany rejected a so-called non-admission complaint from Aldi Süd. It should provide that the sales environment only has to meet a certain level of prestige in the case of top-quality luxury articles. Brands that fall below this threshold should still be able to be presented in chests of drawers or separate showcases with various other non-food articles, as was the case with Coty.
