Alliance for Transparent Cosmetics Data Launched

International Cosmetics Companies Aim to Make Their Supply Chains More Sustainable

15 cosmetics companies have joined forces to create the consortium TRASCE, which stands for the Traceability Alliance for Sustainable CosmEtics. The partners in the alliance, which was initiated by Chanel, have set their sights on enhancing traceability in major ingredient and packaging supply chains. The alliance is supported by FEBEA (Fédération des Entreprises de la Beauté).

The Partners Intend to Identify Steps Needed to Boost Sustainability

In future, the 15 founding members will map out all data from their supply chains on the digital platform Transparency-One. On this basis, they will then look to assess risks and actions needed to become more sustainable as well as steps for future development. According to TRASCE, the data the partners will share includes the ingredients and components used, their origins, names and activities of suppliers and processing sites.

The Alliance Represents the Entire Cosmetics Supply Chain

The group comprises international manufacturers of cosmetics, ingredients and packaging. These include Albéa, Chanel, Clarins, Cosfibel, Dior, Estée Lauder, L’Occitane, L’Oréal, Merck, Neyret, Nuxe, Pochet Group, Sensient, Shiseido and Sisley.
