50 Shades of Beauty & Care and More

Lifocolor at the CosmeticBusiness 2024

German masterbatch manufacturer Lifocolor will present innovative colour concentrates for polymer finishings at the CosmeticBusiness trade fair. With its “Shades of Beauty & Care 2025”, the company will be presenting approximately 50 trend nuances that can be customised to suit the product, brand and target group and can be adapted to the current trends. Divided into four themed worlds the colour trends are said to offer inspiration for the design of beauty and care products. Four key colours from the “Playful Aesthetics” themed world will be showcased for the first time with two roll-on deodorants, a stick deodorant and a deodorant spray.

Plastics Get the Look of Granite

One of the novelties of the manufacturer is the portfolio of granite effects. At the CosmeticBusiness, the company will present two of its current four effect concentrates, using a jar and a bottle as examples. These effects are currently created with formulas for polyolefins (PE, PP) and initial engineering polymers (ABS, PMMA, TPE) and meet the requirements for approval for food contact in accordance with 10/2011 EU and FDA regulations. They can be processed using common injection and extrusion techniques at temperatures up to 280 degrees Celsius.

Silver Colours Detected by the Sorting System

Another novelty is a result of the cooperation with Eckart, a manufacturer of metallic effect and pearl pigments. With its partner, Lifocolor reportedly has developed masterbatch solutions that can be detected by NIR. This means they can be correctly recognised in sorting plants and sent for recycling. The sorting properties of four example formulas for HDPE and PP have been successfully tested, according to the masterbatch manufacturer.
