Conference Programme inspires with Trends and Innovations

Focus on Trending Colours and Materials, Sustainability and Recycling

Visitors to CosmeticBusiness 2022 can expect a multifaceted range of products and services in the conference programme and exhibition. From 1 to 2 June 2022, top speakers and exhibitors will shed light on current industry themes in trend and specialist lectures. In addition, exhibitors will present new products at the SPOTLIGHT special show. For the first time, start-ups will also present their innovative solutions for the cosmetics industry with a booth and lecture in the Innovation Corner.

Turn Trends into Business

On the first day of the trade show, trend analyst and colour expert Niels Holger Wien will give exclusive Zeitgeist impulses and insights into the world of colours and materials for the 2023/2024 season in his CB IMPULSE lecture. The international trend agency BEAUTYSTREAMS will then translate the current megatrends into recommendations on how to create contemporary cosmetic products.

Lectures on Sustainability and Recycling

On the second day of the trade show, the programme inspires with lectures on sustainability, recycling and packaging. The programme will be opened by Roland Grandel from the BDIH. In his lecture, Grandel will be talking about the certification of natural and organic cosmetics according to international COSMOS standards and he will be shedding light on relevant criteria for the packaging of cosmetic products. Tanja Fell from the Fraunhofer Institute will then present recycling technologies for cosmetics packaging made from post-consumer waste. In her presentation, she will be highlighting the application of recycled polymers in cosmetics packaging.

In the presentation "Sustainibility in Beauty Industry with a special focus on Ethical Labels", the market research company Ecovia Intelligence will be showing examples of cosmetics companies that already operate sustainably, with a particular emphasis on ethical quality seals.

Finally, Dr Stephan Telschow from the Society for Innovative Market Research (GiM) will speak on the subject of "Hauptsache, kein Plastik! Nachhaltige Verpackung aus Sicht von Konsument:innen" (No Plastic Please! The Consumer View on Sustainable Packaging). Based on findings from market research, he will provide recommendations for decision-makers from marketing and product management as well as for packaging manufacturers.

Future Challenges in Cosmetics Law

In the 30-minute lecture "Quo Vadis, Cosmetics?" Viviane Handler-Kunze from the consulting firm PfeifferConsulting will explain the regulatory challenges in the coming years. She will also go into more detail on the topics of omnibus regulation, microplastics and fragrances.

As part of the "Meet the Expert!" format, experts from the consulting firm PfeifferConsulting will be available for a professional exchange.

Presentation of New Products

Exhibitors will present their new products not only at the booths but also in the SPOTLIGHT special show in Hall 4. For the first time, start-ups will also showcase their new products at a booth and with a presentation in the Innovation Corner. These include, for example, Recyda from Freiburg with a tool to evaluate recyclability, and rezemo from Weiblingen with sustainable refill systems. Furthermore, MyMicrobiome will be presenting its "Microbiome-friendly" label. Newcomers present their new solutions on both days of the event in 30-minute talks.
